Yes, like any other mechanical equipment, maintenance is required. it is important to ensure the heat pump is not obstructed by snow, ice, pollen, leaves, insects or dust. The furnace’s air filter should be replaced periodically (every 3 to 6 months), and check the condition and flow of the drainage pan.
